With just 6 days to go until Election Day on Saturday, November 7, enrolment numbers across Aotearoa are climbing, highlighting a strong community push ahead of voting.

At Aukaha News along with our partners Taiuru News & Tuia News we will bring you an up-to-the-minute count across our four Māori electorates Waiariki, Hauraki Waikato, Te Tai Hauāuru and Tāmaki Makaurau on election night, alongside continuous tracking of the party vote by the numbers.

Provisional Enrolment Hits 93.6%

The Electoral Commission has confirmed that nearly 3.8 million people specifically 3,790,946 voters are provisionally enrolled for the 2026 General Election. This puts the provisional enrolment rate at 93.6%, placing it just shy of the 94.7% final enrolment rate recorded in the 2023 General Election.

“It shows a good level of awareness of the change in the rules and the new deadline to enrol before voting started this year,” says Chief Electoral Officer Karl Le Quesne.

“It’s been a community effort to raise awareness of the new enrolment deadline and we thank everyone who has played a part. Now the focus is on encouraging people to vote,” he says.
