Rising Pacific-soul sensation, Myshaan (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāpuhi, Tainui), has poured out his heart with the release of his new EP, ‘My Love,’ a deeply personal project dedicated to his wife.
The 23-year-old artist, who has spent more than 115 weeks in the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles Chart since 2023, continues to build on his strong chart and streaming momentum with this latest release. The EP blends smooth R&B, reggae influences, and Pacific soul, embodying Myshaan’s signature soulful and emotionally raw sound.
‘My Love’ captures the intensity of attraction and the ache of long-distance, exploring themes of commitment, resilience, and the challenges of a relationship worth fighting for. Written during a period of distance from his wife shortly after proposing, Myshaan describes the EP as a love letter.
“This EP is about love in all its forms. The infatuation, the butterflies, and the overthinking. It’s about loving someone so deeply that even when they’re not there, they’re with you everywhere,” Myshaan says. “This is a declaration of my love.”
The EP features the successful singles ‘Missed Your Chance’ and ‘Paint Them With You,’ both of which peaked at #3 on the Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles Chart, along with the track ‘Pacific Beauty.’
Fresh off opening for Maoli on the Island Vibe tour, Myshaan’s digital presence remains significant, boasting a combined social following of more than 385,000 followers and 5.7 million likes on TikTok.
‘My Love,’ made with the support of NZ On Air, is available on all major streaming platforms now and marks another defining step in Myshaan’s rise as one of Aotearoa’s most promising voices.
